At Pitsford Fishery, we take the welfare of our fish and general care of the environment very seriously.
The rules detailed below are designed to ensure these principles are adhered to. Any angler found infringing these rules will forfeit their right to fish at Pitsford Fishery, without refund.
All users are asked to familiarise themselves with these rules.
Opening hours will vary with the seasons but we intend to lock the gates for day fisherman an hour before sunset so please ensure that you have left by this time and have taken all your belongings with you.
We also ask for all rubbish to be taken home and none be left on site.
For day fishing, 1 rod is £6 and 2 rods are £10.
Concessions available for OAP's, children and students.
Night fishing only by prior arrangement so please get in touch.
1 GUEST PER PAYING ANGLER- NO FAMILIES/GROUPS.
Removal of fish is theft, we will prosecute.
Barbless hooks only.
No carp/barbel/catfish are to be retained in keep nets - only silver fish.
No ground bait.
No live bait.
Hemp pellets permitted.
Landing mats are to be used when catching large fish (not necessary for course fishing).
No fishing between pegs.
No fishing in lilies.
All forms of fixed lead are not prohibited.
Only one spectator may accompany a paying angler.
All fish caught must be returned to the lake alive.
No lead weights.
No standing when photographing your catch.
No holding catfish by their mouths.
Never handle fish with a dry cloth as this will remove their protective slime.
Floating baits may be used, but particular care must be taken not to hook water fowl.
Surplus bait must not be discarded in the water.
Wading only permitted for landing catfish.
Dogs are permitted with paying anglers but must be kept on lead at all times.
All dog waste must be collected by owner.
Bait boats may be used but not across other peoples swims.
Litter in the vicinity of an anglers peg is considered his/hers responsibility.
No radios or open fires.
Disposable BBQ's and camping stoves are permitted but please don't damage the surroundings.
Cars must be parked in the authorised car park unless a prearranged appointment has been made
(this is mainly due to the soft ground).
No night fishing from the island.
There are toilets on site but please be aware that there is no drinking water so we recommend you bring water along with you.
Gates can be locked for night fisherman for peace of mind if requested.
All fisherman must have a valid rod license.
All under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
